The show

The goal here was simple: take an existing Motown set and give it a serious upgrade. Instead of playing the same old radio edits everyone expects, we flipped the script with alternative versions, custom mashups, and slick new arrangements. The artist wanted a Jazz Lounge vibe, so I built in plenty of open vamps and solo sections. This gave the live band space to show off over the backing tracks, keeping the gig feeling totally live, organic, and full of energy.

To pull the whole show together, I spent time adding custom horn lines and strings wherever a track needed extra punch. By standardizing the production and building in room for the musicians to jam, we took a standard party set and turned it into a smooth, high-energy show that kept the dance floor moving from start to finish.

I gave the artist's show flow a massive upgrade, moving away from mono karaoke version tracks that meant stopping to awkwardly to press play between every single song, to a stereo playback system, which led to a slick show flow. Adding custom walk ons & smooth transitions kept the energy high and saved the artist from ever having to stare at a laptop screen mid-gig.
